The Cévenol village of Anduze
Village pittoresque et authentique, la belle Anduze est typiquement cévenole.
Come and discover the local products, the incredible landscapes, the hiking trails, especially the fort-Rohan, the capelans-dolmens (G-R) and its heritage. But also activities such as canyoning… there is so much to do.
You stroll through the small streets and discover in particular the clock tower dating from 1320, the Pagoda Fountain with its oriental style or the largest Temple in France. You can discover the local craftsmanship with its traditional Anduze pottery. Or bask along the river the “Gardon d’Anduze”.
You will enjoy its weekly market on Thursday mornings to mingle with the Cevenolian life, taste the olives, tapenades, pélardons, Anduze sausage… In July and August you will stroll on the night market which takes place every Tuesday evening in a friendly atmosphere.
You can discover the bamboo grove, bamboo park, rare flowers, immerse yourself in this magical park with a thousand colours.
Caves of the Cevennes
Our pretty department of Gard is full of grottos to discover during your stay at Camping Les Fauvettes. Among them, the grotto of Trabuc is a must. Known since ancient times, it was inhabited by prehistoric man until the Roman era.
On your way, make a stopover to visit other caves and discover all their secrets.
Camping at the foot of the Cevennes
Calm and nature will punctuate your stay at the camping in the Gard. By choosing a rental at the foot of the Cevennes mountains you will be close to many places to visit in Anduze.
Take advantage of a family outing to board the steam train that takes you to Saint-Jean-du-Gard through the Gardons valley. On your way you can visit the “Maison Rouge” museum and discover all the history of the Cevennes. Or take a family outing on the velorail and enjoy the panorama.
And why not take in the sights by walking along the corniche des Cévennes to get to the mont Aigoual at an altitude of 1565 m on the border of the Gard and Lozère departments and enjoy the breathtaking panorama on offer, particularly with its meteorological station.
But just an hour’s drive from Anduze, you can also change the scenery and find yourself discovering Nîmes and its history… as well as the sea!
